AUGUSTA, Ga. - Junior women's golfer Michelle Piyapattra remained within striking distance of the leaders on day one of the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate and will begin the second round on Saturday tied for 33rd.

Playing as an individual at the event, Piyapattra is going up against some of the best golfers in the nation as six teams ranked in the top 50 are competing at Forest Hills Golf Club this weekend. Piyapattra, competing in the final group of the day, posted a six-over 78 to finish the opening round tied for 33rd.

The Corona, Calif. native remains in contention though, as only four golfers recorded rounds under par. The six golfers all tied for fifth after the first round are just five strokes ahead of Piyapattra at one-over, 73.

Piyapattra will begin second round action at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
