T&F Continues Strong Performances At IC4A's & More

PRINCETON, N.J. – On Saturday, May 11, the Columbia track & field team continued its weekend of action at last- chance qualifying meets by competing in the 2013 IC4A Outdoor Championships and the Virginia University Challenge.

On day two of the IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Lions posted several finals heat qualifying finishes in a few preliminary events. The 800m prelims were led by Harrison McFann who crossed the line with the top time of 1:49.55. Junior Brendon Fish clocked in with a qualifying time of 1:50.33 and sophomore Connor Claflin with a time of 1:50.36.

Fish returned on Sunday, May 12 to capture the men's 800m run with a time of 1:51.14. Claflin went on to finish third at 1:51.37 and Mcfann took fourth place at 1:51.66.

In Charlottesville, Va., both John Gregorek and Daniel Everett increased their NCAA East Regional qualifying times with strong performances in the men’s 1,500m. Gregorek ran a season best time of 3:42.72 which currently ranks in the top 15 of the east region. Everett also posted a season best time of 3:42.83 to reach the top 20 of the east region.
