
NEW YORK – The Columbia women’s soccer team is currently in the midst of a four game road swing. After defeating Sacred Heart 1-0 on Tuesday, the Lions will look to carry that momentum into Jacksonville, Fl. this weekend for a pair of contest in the North Florida Invitational. On Friday, Sept. 13, Columbia (2-1-0) will face Florida Atlantic (0-4-1) at 5 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 15 a matchup with North Florida (1-4-1) is set for a start time 2 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: Beverly Leon scored the only goal of the game against Sacred Heart and it was all the Lions to defeat the Pioneers 1-0 on Tuesday, Sep. 10. The Lions grabbed its second straight road win and improved to 2-1-0 behind a solid defensive effort at Campus Field.

ABOUT FAU: The Owls are winless in their first five games this season and hold a current record of 0-4-1. The Miami Hurricanes handed Florida Atlantic its latest loss in a bizarre 2-1 defeat that included two weather stoppages. The Owls are a fairly young team made up of 18 first-year players.
INSIDE THE SERIES: The year was 1998 the last time Columbia took on Florida Atlantic. In the teams’ only meeting, the Lions came away with a 3-1 victory.
