Jonathan Singer Named Men's Golf Assistant Coach
A native of Carson City, Nev., Singer comes to Columbia following a four-year standout career at Adelphi University.
“I am excited to have Coach Singer become part of our program,” stated Mueller. “His collegiate golf career and academic successes were a natural match for Columbia.”
A two-time All-Northeast-10 selection, Singer’s impressive collegiate career included seven individual top-five finishes. He was invited to the NCAA superregionals each of his four years at Adelphi and became the first player to participate in and win three Northeast-10 team championships. Singer was honored with the Faculty Recognition Award twice in addition to the Presidential Student Athletic Award, which is awarded to two student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the playing field.
Singer, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphi in 2013, earned a B.A degree in psychology and B.S. degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology.
At Carson High School, Singer won the Northern Regional Zone High School Championship by five strokes and was named the 2009 Northern Nevada All-Region Player of the Year. He recorded the lowest scoring average on his team and was named First-Team All-League and team captain from 2007-09. In 2009, Singer finished second out of 111 players at the 2009 Winter California Junior Tour.
