NEW YORK - Luke Petrasek scored a career-high 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting to lead the Columbia men's basketball team to a dominating 82-59 home victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday. The Lions (7-5) knocked down 10 shots from behind the arc and shared the ball well, dishing out a season-high 17 assists on 23 makes from the floor.

Maodo Lo and Alex Rosenberg each chipped in 14 points. Grant Mullins contributed 12 points and handed out a career-best seven assists. Isaac Cohen grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.

Petrasek and Mullins opened the scoring with back-to-back triples, and a layup by Lo gave Columbia an 8-0 lead just 2:31 into the ballgame. The Knights (3-10) trimmed the deficit to 12-11 with 11:52 remaining on a 3-pointer from Mathias Seilund and remained within two possessions until the 7-minute mark.

However, the Lions’ shooting was too much for FDU to handle as they missed only one shot from the floor and foul line combined (7-of-7 FG, 9-of-10 FT) in the final 8:46 of the frame to take a 42-27 cushion into the locker room.

The second half started exactly like the first, with Mullins and Petrasek drilling treys, and Columbia remained in firm control the rest of the way.

The Lions shot 50 percent from the field and held a 35-25 edge on the glass.

Sidney Sanders Jr. posted 20 points, knocking down 10-of-14 foul shots, to lead the Knights.

Next up for the Lions will be a trip to Barclays Center to face St. John’s as part of the Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival on Saturday, Dec. 28. Tip-off is slated for 2:30 p.m., and the game will be televised on FOX Sports 1.
