PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a rocky start to the weekend at No. 3 Yale on Saturday, Jan.11, the No. 11 Columbia men’s squash team bounced back to deliver a dominating performance at No. 16 Brown on Sunday, Jan.12. The Lions posted its second 9-0 shutout victory of the season and its first win in conference play.
On Sunday, Columbia rolled past Brown at the Brodsky Memorial Squash Pavilion to grab its first Ivy League win of the season and extend its all-time win streak over the Bears to 3-0.
The Lions began the weekend with tough match at No. 3 Yale on Saturday afternoon in its second of three straight Ivy League road contest. Despite a 7-2 team loss, the Tandon brothers both picked up wins for the Lions. Junior Ramit Tandon defeated Neil Martin at the No.1 position in straight games 11-6, 11-4, 11-4 to remain unbeaten on the season. First-year Rishi Tandon took the victory at the No. 2 in a tough game against Yale’s Same Fenwick, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 911, 11-8.
No. 11 Columbia moves to 2-2, 1-2 in the Ivy League following the weekend split. The Lions will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 17 at the Pioneer Valley Invitational in Amherst, Mass.
