PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia first-year forward Tori Oliver has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday.

Oliver put on a show for the home crowd at Levien Gymnasium Friday night, scoring 33 points in 36 minutes of action against Dartmouth. The Manassas, Va., native finished 11-of-17 from the field and 11-of-15 from the free throw line to post the second-highest scoring total of any Ivy League player this season. She is the first Columbia player to top 30 points since January 23, 2010 when Judie Lomax scored 30 against Cornell.

The following night against Harvard, Oliver tallied 12 points and pulled down seven boards, hitting 6-of-7 from the charity stripe. Over the course of both games, Oliver shot 52 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line.

Oliver leads the Lions’ offense with 10.8 ppg this season, scoring in double figures in 15 games. Oliver is the second Columbia player to earn Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors this year, joining Carolyn Binder who has won the award three times. Columbia last had four Rookie of the Week honors in 2007-08 when Lauren Dwyer won the award four times.
