PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore pitcher Kevin Roy has been named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Roy earned his first victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, silencing the active bats of UT-San Antonio for just three hits and one earned run over 7.2 innings. In the previous three games, the Roadrunners had tallied 34 hits, but Roy was dominant on the hill, leading Columbia to its first win over UTSA.
Over 107 pitches thrown, Roy struck out two and only walked one, limiting UTSA's scoring opportunities.
Columbia hurlers have earned two of the first three Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors, as David Speer picked up the award after the first week of the season.
Logan Boyher claimed a spot on the Ivy League Honor Roll after going 8-for-12 with four RBI in three games at UTSA.
