Heavyweight Rowing Looks to Retain Collins Cup in Spring Debut

NEW YORK – The Columbia heavyweight rowing team will kick off the 2014 spring season at Rutgers in its quest to retain the Collins Cup.

Last season, the Lions swept three races on the Harlem River, winning each contest by wide margins. This will mark the first championship season with head coach Scott Alwin at the helm of the heavyweights.

Columbia will put four boats of eight in the water on the Raritan River in New Brunswick, N.J. beginning at 8 a.m.

Schedule of Races
Varsity Eights – 8 a.m.
Second Varsity Eights – 8:20 a.m.
Third Varsity Eights – 8:40 a.m.
Fourth Varsity Eights – 9 a.m.
