PRINCETON, N.J. – Winston Lin has been named the Ivy League Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon. Lin is joined on the All-Ivy League singles first team by unanimous selection Dragos Ignat. Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur were unanimous selections to the All-Ivy League doubles first team, while both earned a spot on the singles second team. First-year Richard Pham was selected to the All-Ivy League doubles second team.

Lin is in the midst of a 19-match win streak as the Lions top singles player. In dual matches he earned a 15-0 record, 3-0 in the Ivy League and 5-0 against ranked opponents, earning him the No. 18 ranking in the nation. During the fall season, Lin shined with strong performances at three top tournaments. The Williamsville, N.Y., native reached the Round of 16 at the ITA All-American Championships and the quarterfinals of the UTSA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. His top showing though, came at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championship were he downed Harvard’s Denis Nguyen for the title.

The selection to the All-Ivy League first team is the third straight for Lin. He was also the Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 2012.

Ignat is making his second straight appearance on the All-Ivy League singles first team. The Ancient Eight’s Rookie of the Year last season, Ignat posted a perfect 6-0 mark against conference opponents en route to a 12-4 record in the dual season. His overall record of 18-6 ties him for the third most wins on the team. The Romania native will head into the NCAA tournament riding a six-match win streak, with all but one coming in straight sets.

Narayana and Schnur are making their third staright appearance on the All-Ivy League doubles first team. The 11th-ranked tandem capped a brilliant fall by winning the doubles title at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, defeating the then-No. 2 ranked team in the nation in Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese from Tennessee. In dual matches this spring, the duo went 11-2 overall, while posting a 4-2 mark against ranked opponents. Against the Ivy League, the duo went undefeated at 5-0.

Each is also a strong competitor in singles action. Narayana is appearing on the singles second team for the second straight year after going 12-3 in dual matches and 5-0 against Ivy League opponents. He split time at the No. 2, 3 and 4 positions, with an overall record of 18-5.

Schnur earned his first selection to the All-Ivy League singles second team with a 4-0 Ivy mark and 12-3 dual record. He competed in four different positions in the lineup, highlighted by a 7-0 record at No. 2 and 3. He finished second on the team with 23 wins overall.

First-year Richard Pham rounds out the Columbia selections with a nod to the All-Ivy League doubles second team.  The Saratoga, Calif., native was 12-4 during the dual season, competing with both Ignat and Bert Vancura. Paired with Vancura, the tandem was 5-0 in Ivy League matches as the Lions No. 3 pair. Going back to the fall, Pham was 19-7, competing with a total of five different partners.
