Megan Shea joined Columbia’s coaching staff in July of 2014 after spending three seasons on the sidelines at the University of New Hampshire, her alma mater.

Shea joined the Wildcats’ staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2011 season and was promoted to assistant coach in July 2012. During her tenure, UNH went 44-20 overall and went 14-1 in America East play. The Wildcats picked up three America East regular-season titles and two conference tournament titles with two NCAA Championship appearances. For all of their success, Shea and her colleagues were selected as America East Coaching Staff of the Year in each of the past three seasons.

Before returning to Durham, Shea began her collegiate coaching career at UMass Dartmouth in 2010 where she helped lead the team to a 15-8 record and its second consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. Her other coaching experience includes the Seacoast United Club and National Futures Association NH Level One.

Shea is one of the most prolific scorers in New Hampshire history. A native of Melrose, Massachusetts, she amassed 99 career points (42 goals, 15 assists) spanning the 2006-09 seasons to rank fifth in the program for all-time points, as well as sixth in goals.

As a senior, Shea recorded 23 goals and nine assists for 55 points en route to being named NFHCA All-America third team and NFHCA Northeast Region first team. Additionally, she was selected as the America East Offensive Player of the Year and was and all-conference first team.
