John Andrzejek was named Columbia’s Director of Basketball Operations in July 2014 after spending two seasons as a team manager and assistant to the Director of Operations.
Andrzejek will organize the team’s travel, meals, and expenses and will act as a liaison with the Columbia academic faculty and alumni. The Hamilton, New York, native will also handle scheduling and manage recruiting databases.
During his time as head manager, Andrzejek was vital in video coordination and managing Kyle Smith’s unique statistical database. He also worked at Columbia’s summer camps and was a member of the Lions’ junior varsity squad as an undergrad.
Additionally, Andrzejek worked extensively with Hoop Group under former Columbia alumnus Rob Kennedy as the bracketologist for their AAU Tournaments. Andrzejek has served as Director of Basketball Operations with the East Coast USA squad the last two seasons, where he has worked under South Carolina head coach Frank Martin and Lycoming’s Guy Rancourt.
Andrzejek graduated from Columbia in just two and a half years, earning a degree in Philosophy with a GPA of 3.85. At Hamilton High School in Central New York, Andrzejek played varsity basketball, football and baseball, where he started on a New York State Final Four team in 2009.
