DETROIT – The Columbia fencing program saw four current members and one alumna, Nicole Ross ’13CC, medal at the North American Cup, held from October 7-10. Margaret Lu, Sam Moelis, Andrew Doddo and Violet Michel all took bronze in their respective events.

Ross earned the gold medal in the women’s foil and was joined on the podium by her former Columbia teammate, Lu, who she defeated in the semifinal round. Quin Crum and Iman Blow also picked up top-10 finishes in the pool of 153 entries.

Moelis took third place out of 233 participants in the men’s foil, falling only to the eventual winner, Race Imboden.

Doddo narrowly missed out on reaching the championship bout, falling 15-14 in the semis, but bounced back to secure bronze in the men’s sabre.

In total, the Lions had 11 past and current members of the program earn top-32 results.
