NEW YORK—Several Columbia University fencing alumni competed last weekend at various invitationals, including the World Cup and North American Cup in Richmond, Va.

On the women’s side, alum Nicole Ross is now ranked No. 5 in the world after three consecutive top showings including two second place finishes and a third place finish at various competitions. Most recently, Ross finished in second place at the Grand Prix competition in Turin, Italy on December 2, 2016. She added a second place finish at the Coupe du Monde on November 4, 2016. On the men’s side, Jake Hoyle ‘CC16 earned the Gold Medal at the North American Cup’s epee competition this past weekend in Richmond, Va. Other Columbia results are listed below:
