Hanover, NH - Colette Sultana capped off her Columbia squash career by winning the Holleran West (B Division) Championship today.
Sultana strung together a very impressive weekend, winning four consecutive matches to secure the title.
Ranked No. 41 going into the weekend, Sultana defeated No. 89 Julia Potter in the opening round. She then went on to upset No. 18 Harvard's Sue Ann Yong in the quarter finals and beat No. 58 Stanford's Sarah Bell in the semis to advance to the championship match.
The senior had the best record on the women's squash team this season at 10-6, playing in the No. 4 spot. She was also only Lion to register two wins at team nationals.
Today marked the last match for Sultana in a Columbia uniform and the conclusion of a great four year career for the Malta native.
Her teammate, Maddie O'Connor also advanced to a championship match this weekend. O'Connor finished as the runner up in the Holleran East (B Division) with a five set loss (11-8, 7-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-3) today to Drexel's Ryan Morgan.
