Annapolis, Md. – Members of the Columbia men's swimming team competed at the three-day ECAC Championships in Annapolis, Maryland from Friday, March 3 - Sunday March. 5 in a 20 team field, finishing sixth with 295 points.
The Lions placed sixth in the opening 200 free relay event with the squad of Mark Gullick, Drew May, Julian Radice and Kevin Dang combining for a time of 1:22.97. Zachary Pear notched a runner-up ‘B’ finals finish in the 500 free at 4:31.83. Radice returned in the 200 I.M. to hit the wall first in the ‘B’ finals with a time of 1:50.41, Gullick added a sixth-place finish in the 50 free at 20.51, and the team of Cole Stevens, Pearce Kieser, Drew May and Gullick combined for a runner-up time of 3:18.33 in the 400 medley relay.
A third-place finish by the squad of Cole Stevens, Forrest Davis, Drew May and Kevin Dang in the 200 medley relay at 1:30.90 began the second day for the Lions. May returned to edge Radice in the 100 fly with a sixth-place time of 48.97. The 800 free relay capped the day with another third-place finish by Radice, Gullick, Lexo Walker and Zach Pear with a time of 6:40.76.
Cole Stevens led the final day with a third-place 200 backstroke finish with a time of 1:48.38. Mark Gullick came in fourth in the 100 freestyle in 44.44, while Joseph Lozano took fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:00.26. May clocked in at 1:49.33 in the 200 fly for sixth overall, along with a 10th-place finish by Pear at 1:48.22. Columbia posted the eighth-best time of the meet in the 400 free relay at 3:09.71 by Gullick, Dang, Radice and Erek Cox.
