FORT WORTH, Texas—No. 26 ranked TCU defeated the Columbia women’s tennis team 4-0 Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The dual match, Columbia’s eighth against a nationally ranked team this year, marked its final of a three-match spring break road trip.

TCU won two doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead in the match. TCU’s Sofiko Kadzhaya notched 6-0, 6-3 win over Columbia first-year Ali Pollack to go up 2-0, TCU’s Donika Bashota followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Columbia junior Rima Asatrian at No. 4 singles for a 3-0 lead. The Horned Frogs clinched the match when No. 60 ranked Seda Arantekin registered a 6-4, 6-1 win over Columbia junior Alexandra Solovyev.

TCU improved to 9-5 on the year.

Columbia (3-10) returns home for a Sunday non-conference match against LIU-Brooklyn and Dick Savitt Tennis Center. First serve on Sunday is at 4 p.m. The LIU-Brooklyn match is the final non-conference match before the Lions begin Ivy League competition.
