INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The reigning Ivy League diving champion, Jayden Pantel capped a phenomenal junior season with pair of finishes in the three meet and platform dive of the 2017 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships this weekend at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.
Pantel placed 38th overall in the three-meter dive on Friday behind a score of 304.5 points. On Saturday he returned to compete in the platform dive by tallying a score of 283.35 in the prelims for an overall finish of 30th.
"By qualifying for the NCAA Championships we were given the opportunity to compete with the best athletes in the world including several World and Olympic medalists," Columbia Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "We are grateful for all the support that we have received from the entire extended family that is Columbia University. We would like to give special thanks to our families, our fans, our alumni and to everyone in the athletic department. None of this would be possible without each and every one of you."
