PROVIDENCE, R.I./NEW HAVEN, Conn.—The Columbia women’s tennis team concludes regular season play when it travels to both Brown and Yale for matches this weekend set for Saturday and Sunday respectively. The Brown match is set for Saturday at noon at the Pizzitola Sports Center, while the Yale match will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

Columbia is led in wins by first-year Ali Pollack, who has registered 16 victories and is on a two-match win streak. In addition, sophomore Andrea Kevakian has won 14 dual matches, junior Alexandra Solovyev has played the last 12 matches at the No. 1 singles position and sports a 12-14 overall record, while junior captain Adi Milstein is 7-7. Asatrian and Kevakian have compiled an 8-6 doubles record on the year. Kevakian, Asatrian and Pollack all previously earned preseason Northeast Regional rankings.

Columbia enters the weekend with a 5-14 overall and 1-4 Ivy League record. The Lions have played a difficult schedule featuring seven dual matches against nationally ranked teams. Updated Columbia statistics are located at this link.

In her 10th season at the helm of the Columbia women’s tennis program, Head Coach Ilene Weintraub, CC’02 needs just two more dual match victories to notch her 100th career win at Columbia. The winningest coach in school history with 98 victories, Weintraub guided the Lions to their first Ivy League title in 2013, led the program to a top-40 national ranking in 2016, captured two ECAC Championships (2014 and 2016) and recruited the nation’s No. 6 ranked class in 2015 according to tennisrecruiting.net. She was the ITA Northeast Region Coach of the Year in both 2014 and 2016.
