NEW YORK – Columbia men’s basketball head coach Jim Engles unveiled the 27-game 2017-18 schedule. The Lions will begin the campaign in the City of Brotherly Love when they take on Villanova, fresh off its 12th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, in Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, November 10.

Columbia will remain on the road for its next six contests, starting with a trip down to Farmville, Virginia, to take on Longwood November 14. Next up will be a matchup at Penn State (Nov. 17) which will be the first meeting between the schools since 1993.

The Lions will tour New York around Thanksgiving with showdowns against Army (Nov. 21) and Colgate (Nov. 25) before meeting up with Connecticut November 29 at a venue to be determined. Columbia will head to the state capital to take on UAlbany on December 2 to wrap up the road swing.

Monday, December 4 marks Columbia’s first home game when it hosts Quinnipiac.

Two more games in Levien Gymnasium follow (Stony Brook – Dec. 7, Navy – Dec. 10) before the Lions take on Boston College for just the second time in program history on December 12 in Chestnut Hill.

After an 18-day break for finals and the holidays, Columbia will renew acquaintances with Maine (Dec. 30) and will ring in 2018 against Sarah Lawrence before Ivy League play commences.

The Lions have a back-to-back out of the gate, heading to Princeton (Jan. 12) and Penn (Jan. 13) before a home-and-home series with Cornell. The Big Red will come to Morningside Heights Saturday, January 20, with the return trip scheduled for Saturday, January 27 in Ithaca.

Harvard (Feb. 2) and Dartmouth (Feb. 3) head south down I-95 before a trip to Yale (Feb. 9) and Brown (Feb. 10). Columbia returns to Levien for the next two weekends (Penn – Feb. 16, Princeton – Feb. 17, Brown - Feb. 23, Yale - Feb. 24). The Lions close out the regular season at Dartmouth (March 2) and Harvard (March 3).

For the second consecutive season, the top-four finishers in the standings will meet at the Palestra for the Ivy League Championship (Mar. 10-11).
