PRINCETON, N.J. – Three members of the Columbia field hockey team were named All-Ivy League, highlighted by a first-team selection for senior midfielder Maeve Doherty. Joining Doherty are junior goalkeeper Katie Dempsey and sophomore forward Jennifer Trieschman, who earned second team and honorable mention status, respectively.
Doherty led the squad with 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 points, which ranked in the top-five in the Ancient Eight in all three categories. She currently is tied for second in the NCAA with eight defensive saves. For her career, Doherty is second all-time in assists (24), fifth in points (76) and seventh in goals (26). This marks the Millersville, Maryland, native’s third time being recognized as All-Ivy League and second time earning first-team accolades.
Dempsey started all 17 games in net for the Lions and her nine victories are the third most in a single-season for Columbia. She boasted
Trieschman notched six goals and added an assist, appearing in all 17 games for the Lions. A product of Houston, Trieschman recorded her first collegiate goal against No. 21 Saint Joseph’s and potted a hat trick in a victory over Holy Cross on October 8.
