PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia men’s basketball first-year Gabe Stefanini earned his second Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after leading the Lions, averaging 18.5 points per game and went 7-of-9 from 3-point range in a pair of tough road games.

With the Lions down by 11 in the first half at Yale, Stefanini scored 10 points in a row to spark a 12-2 run to put Columbia in front. He finished the game with a team-high 17 points and knocked down all three of his attempts from beyond the arc against the Bulldogs. The next night at Brown, the Bologna, Italy, native sparked another rally - this time in the second half - where he scored 17 of his career-high 20 points. His steal and long pass to teammate Mike Smith tied the game at 50-50 and later Stefanini hit an off-balance 3-pointer with the shot clock winding down to put Columbia up five late in regulation.

Junior Lukas Meisner earned a spot on the Ivy League Weekly Honor Roll with a pair of double-doubles, bringing his streak up to four consecutive games and extending his conference-leading total to six on the year. Meisner averaged 17.5 points and 11 rebounds, including a 20-point, 12-board effort to close the weekend at Brown.

Columbia is back in action this weekend against Penn Friday, February 16, and Princeton, Saturday, February 17. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for both contests. To purchase, visit or call 888-LIONS-11.
