SEATTLE – Columbia claimed the doubles point and three singles victories to upend No. 9 Oklahoma State for its second win at the ITA Indoor Team National Championship.

The No. 11/14 ranked Lions wrap up the tournament from Seattle at 2-1, and move to 7-1 this season with three wins over ranked opponents. Sunday’s victory helps Columbia to avenge a 4-1 loss to the Cowboys a season ago at the same tournament.

In doubles action, the No. 2 and No. 3 teams propelled the Lions to a 1-0 lead. Jack Lin and William Matheson got by the Theodoru/Dubinski team, 6-4, while Adam Ambrozy and Michal Rolski defeated Mendoza/Draheim, 7-5.

Victor Pham, Jack Lin, and Timothy Wang all posted singles victories, helping Columbia to its second win in Seattle.

Pham claimed his second win at the Team National Championship to go along with one unfinished match when he knocked off No. 88 Julian Cash. Both sets had to go to a tiebreaker, but the No. 15 ranked singles player prevailed, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (8).

Lin came away with the No. 3 singles bout, matching Pham’s 2-0 record at the tournament as he defeated Tristan Meraut, 6-4, 7-5.

The No. 6 match went to Timothy Wang, as the junior got by No. 125 Luke Hammond, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.

Columbia now has this next weekend off, before Monmouth visits the Dick Savitt Tennis Center at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.
