Princeton, NJ. - For the third-consecutive season, a Columbia diver takes the one-meter dive Ivy League crown. With a score of 374.20, first-year Jonathan Suckow captured his first Ivy League title at the 2018 Men's Swimming & Diving Ivy League Championships on Thurdsay, Feb. 22. Senior Jayden Pantel also placed third in the event with an impressive score of 346.70.

Michal Zyla posted a top-five finish in the 500 Freestyle with a finals time of 4:20.57, while Kevin Frifeldt added a sixth-place finish in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 19.87. With a program record time of 1:46.27, Jae Park finished ahead all swimmers in the 'B' finals of the 200 I.M. Park bested the previous record time of 1:46.64 set in 2015. Shane Brett also finished in the top-eight overall with championship finals time of 1:47.42.

Columbia sits in fourth place in the overall team standings with 364 points. Harvard leads the way with 563 points, followed by Princeton (459 pts.)and Yale (377 pts.).

Jonathan Suckow led the way taking the one meter event; while Michal Zyla, Shane Brett and Kevin Frifeldt all had top eight finishes Zyla finished 5th in the 500 free; Frifeldt touched 6th in the 50 free and Brett 8th in the 200 IM. The four-day meet will begin each day with 11 a.m. preliminaries, and then conclude with finals sessions at 6 p.m. Click the links above to view the full schedule of events.

Adult ticket prices are set at $30 for an event pass, $4 one-day prelim ticket and $6 one-night finals ticket. Children (under 12) and students with a valid ID are $1 for one-day prelims, and $3 for one-night finals tickets. For the morning sessions the ticket office will open at 9:30 a.m. and for the evening sessions the ticket office will open at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS:

A record night for Columbia men's swimming on day one of the 2018 Men's Swimming & Diving Ivy League Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with an imperssive peformance during the opening relays in DeNunzio Pool.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Michal Zyla, Nian-Guo Liu, Jae Park and Mark Gullick combined for a fifth-place time of 6:26.26 to set a new program record. The tandem bested the previous record of 6:27.32 set in 2013.

The Lions began the afterrnon with a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay with the squad of tandem of Cole Stevns, Jace Ng, Kevin Frifeldt and Albert Gwo posting a season-high time of 1:27.83

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:
•(11/11) - Jonathan Suckow sets pool and program 3M diving record in thrid-consecutive meet with a winning score of 425.85. Surpassing previous own record of 425.05 set against Penn.
•(11/19) - Jonathan Suckow wins 1M Dive at Frank Elm Invitational

•(12/1) - For the third time this season, Jonathan Suckow sets new 3M dive program record with a winning score of 430.35 at the Big Al Invitational. Also wins 1M Dive at meet to remain unbeaten in both events in collegiate competition.

•(12/2) - Shane Brett Wins 400 I.M. At Big Al Invitational

• (2/3) - For the fourth time this season, Jonathan Suckow sets new 3M dive program record with a winning score of 437.25.
• (2/3)- Columbia diving caps fourth-consecutive season unbeaten in dual-meet Ivy League play with a combined record of 48-0 in both the 3M & 1M dives.
• (2/3) Setting a pool record in the 100 fly was senior Kevin Frifeldt who cloked in with a time of 47.56, besting the previous record of 48.08 set by David Jakl '15CC in 2015.
