Piscataway, N.J. – With the second-best score of the afternoon at 789.20, Ivy League champion Jonathan Suckow secured his first trip to the NCAA Championships on Monday afternoon at the diving zones in Rutgers Aquatic Center. The first-year diver joins teammate Jayden Pantel as the second diver in program history to qualify in their inaugural seasons.
"Even on the most exalted throne in the world we are only sitting on our own bottom." - Johnathan Suckow
" The competition was very strong. Jonathan earned an automatic qualifying spot with his performance. Jayden still has a great chance to qualify in all three events with two more events to go. This meet is a marathon. Consistency is the key." - Scott Donie, Columbia Head Diving Coach
The Lions will return tomorrow to compete in the men's one-meter dive and the women's three-meter dive.
