WILMINGTON, N.C.—For the third time in program history, the Columbia men’s golf team will compete at the Seahawk Intercollegiate beginning on Sunday at the Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Golf Course. Columbia competed at the event in both 2013 and 2015.
The golfers will play 36 holes on Sunday with the final 18 holes taking place on Monday. Teams will compete on the par-72, 6,967 yard-long course. Thirteen teams will compete in the event including Columbia, Army West Point, Boston College, Campbell, Davidson, Elon, George Mason, Miami, Ohio, Richmond, Michigan State, Rutgers, Toledo and host UNC-Wilmington. Four teams are ranked among Golfstat’s top-70 teams including Michigan State (53), Campbell (62), Miami, Ohio (64) and UNC-Wilmington (67).

Columbia is coming off its annual Spring Break trip and season-opening competition at the Grand Canyon Invitational. First-year Arjun Puri led the Lions with a 26th place finish last weekend in Phoenix. Updated Columbia statistics are posted at this link.
Columbia last competed at the Seahawk Invitational in 2015. That year, the Lions were led by Brandon Jowers, who shot a six-over-par 72-74-76-222 to place tied for ninth. As a team, the Lions finished eighth.
The event is the second of five spring tournaments that the Lions will compete in. After the Seahawk Invite, Columbia will compete at the Princeton Invitational (April 7-8) and Penn State Invitational (April 14-15) before preparing for the The Ivy League Championship, which is scheduled for April 20-22 at Stonewell in Elverson, Pa.
