WILMINGTON, N.C.—Five members of the Columbia men’s golf team completed 36 holes in day one at the Seahawk Intercollegiate Sunday at the Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Golf Course.
Columbia finished day one in 14th place at plus-63 (325-314-639). The Lions will tee off the final round at 8:30 a.m. The Lions were led by first-year Arjun Puri, who sits in 53rd place with an 11-over-par 78-77-155. Puri carded six birdies on the day, including three in the second round’s back nine.
First-year John Robertson, competing for Columbia in his first competition, finished the first two rounds in 65th place with a 16-over-par 80-80-160. He totaled four birdies on the day.
Sophomore Nick Brisebois concluded day one with a 19-over-par 89-74-163 and five birdies. His 74 was Columbia low round for the day. In shooting a 74, he put together three birdies and 10 pars.
Host UNC-Wilmington is currently in first place at eight-under-par 289-279-568 while UNC-W’s Blake McShea is in first place in the individual competition at four-under-par 68-72-140.
Fourteen teams are competing in the including Columbia, Army West Point, Boston College, Campbell, Davidson, Elon, George Mason, Miami, Ohio, Richmond, Michigan State, Rutgers, Toledo, VCU and host UNC-Wilmington.
