ELVERSON, Pa.— First-year Arjun Puri ended day one in 21st place to lead the Columbia men’s golf team Friday at the 2018 Ivy League Golf Championship at Stonewall Old Course.

Puri finished the first round with a nine-over-par 79 for 21st place. He finished the round with one birdie and a team-high nine pars. He fired a 38 on today’s front nine.
Sophomore Nick Brisebois concluded the day in 30th place with a 12-over-par 82. He carded one birdie.
Rounding out Columbia individuals were senior Joshua Suh, who ended the first round in 34th place at 13-over-par 83, first-year John Robertson is in 38th place at 18-over-par 88 and first-year Dan Terrell is in 40th place at 21-over-par 91.
As a team, Columbia finished the first round in eighth place with a 52-over-par 332. Yale completed the first round in first place with a 20-over-par 300, followed by second place Penn at 21-over-par 301.
The Stonewall Old Course is a par-70, 6,866-yard course.
