NEW YORK — The Columbia women’s rowing team makes its final tune-up for the Ivy League Championship when it competes at the EAWRC Women’s Sprints on Sunday. The regatta will be held at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., and will be live streamed courtesy of USRowing.


The 2018 field consists of Boston College, Boston University, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Columbia, Dartmouth, Drexel, Georgetown, Harvard-Radcliffe, MIT, Northeastern, Princeton, Rutgers, Buffalo, Connecticut and Wisconsin. There will be three heats in the Varsity Eight to decide who advances to that afternoon’s Petite and Grand Finals. The heats run from 8:20 – 8:40 a.m. The Petite Final goes off at 3:25 p.m., followed by the Grand Final at approximately 3:35 p.m.


Columbia is scheduled to compete in the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four A and Varsity Four B. A complete schedule of the day’s races and live results can be accessed at


Columbia is hoping for repeated success at the Women’s Sprints. Last season, all five Lions boats medaled, including gold for the Varsity Four A. The Varsity Four B and C each took silver, while the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight took bronze.
