LEONIA, N.J. - The No. 2 Columbia lightweight rowing team made it a clean sweep, winning four races against Drexel, a heavyweight crew, and Delaware at Overpeck Park Saturday morning. The Lions varsity eight will enter EARC Sprints on a four-race winning streak, while the second varsity eight remains unbeaten in all seven regattas on the year.

The varsity eight turned in a time of 5:43.0 while facing a 4-8 MPH crosswind, which was five seconds faster than the Blue Hens and 10 seconds in front of the Dragons.

In the second varsity, Columbia earned an open-water triumph over Drexel. The third varsity won by a similar margin over Delaware and the fourth varsity, making its spring debut, posted a 3.8-second win over the Dragons.

The Lions are off next weekend before heading to Lake Quinsigamond for the EARC Sprints on Sunday, May 13.
