Head Coach

Bernadine Goldberg has been coaching the Dance Team since 2004 after graduating magna cum laude from Barnard College in May of that year. She began as an assistant coach and took over the head coaching position in the fall of 2007. She joined the Columbia University Dance Team during her freshman year, and went on to serve three years as a captain. Over the course of her time on the team Bernadine was named All-American by NDA staff and during her senior year received a Student Government Association Leadership Award from Barnard for her four years of dedication to the Dance Team. Prior to arriving at Barnard, Bernadine danced for fourteen years at Coupe Theatre Studio in Nanuet, New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Dance. She currently works for Screen Actors Guild in New York.

Assistant Coach

Alexandra Stylianos has been coaching the Dance Team since 2008 after she graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Art History.  She joined the Dance Team as a freshman in September 2004 and danced with the team for 4 years.  Alexandra also served as captain for three years, leading her team to place in the Top 10 of Division 1 Finals of the NDA Collegiate Championship in 2006 and 2008.  Before dancing with the Columbia University Dance Team, Alexandra was a 4 year member and 2 year captain of the nationally-ranked Varsity Dance Team at the Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, NJ.  She currently works for the Union Square Hospitality Group at Eleven Madison Park Restaurant in New York.
