This course is for the non-swimmer or the swimmer with poor swimming skills. The course follows the Basic Red Cross Beginning Swimming outline. The objective of the course is to equip the individual with the basic water safety skills and knowledge in order to make him/her reasonably safe while in, on, or about the water.
SWIMMING (ADVANCED BEGINNER)
This course is designed for the swimmer who has completed a beginner swimming class, but does not yet feel competent enough as a swimmer to move on to an intermediate/ advanced or lap swim class. The focus will be on the development of better stroke techniques to improve skills, confidence, and endurance in the water. The shallow depth is 5 ½ feet.
This course is for the swimmer who has a good command of the freestyle stroke and wishes to improve and learn or improve on the other competitive strokes (backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). Technique, efficiency, and development of endurance will be the focuses of the class.
