Aerobic Dance is an enjoyable, upbeat 50 minutes of exercise that will increase cardiovascular fitness, relieve tension, burn calories, improve coordination, and strengthen and stretch specific muscle groups. Each class consists of a short warm-up, 20 minutes of aerobics or low-impact aerobics, a short cool-down segment, toning exercises for arms, torso, abdominals, and legs, and a final stretching sequence.
Emphasis on cardiorespiratory fitness through running and other modes of exercise. The student's CR fitness level will be evaluated; and, based on his/her skill level, the student will develop an individualized program to improve or maintain that level. Time is devoted to equipment selection, stretching regimes, proper running technique, assessment of body composition, and the role of exercise in weight control.
