NEW YORK - Recognition for Ivy League Midfielder of the Year Lindsey Ewertsen, continued on Friday, May 11 as the junior was selected to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region second team. Ewertsen becomes the first player in program history to garner multiple IWLCA honors, receiving an All-Rookie team selection in 2016.
Ewertsen put together a record-setting season to help lead the Lions to their most conference wins in a season and first-ever berth into the Ivy League Tournament. As a sensational all-around player, she led Columbia in draw controls, caused turnovers and ground balls.
With 78 draw controls, the junior set a new program single-season record surpassing the previous record of 60 set by Caroline Joy in 2015. In just three seasons, Ewertsen continues to advance her career record-setting mark in caused turnovers with 91 with 37 on the year. She also led the Ivy League in ground balls by collecting 46. Ewertsen fired in 28 goals and 15 assists overall this season, with 18 scores and five helpers coming in Ivy League play.
This season marks the third-consecutive a Columbia player has earned IWLCA honors, following All-Region second team honors by Taylor Quinn in 2017.
