LEXINGTON, Ky. - On the second day of the NCAA East Prelims, Columbia's Nell Crosby clocked a school record in the 3,000m Steeplechase and qualified for the NCAA Finals.

With a second place finish in her heat at 10:02.02, Crosby qualified for the NCAA Finals in Eugene, joining senior Natalie Tanner, who qualified on day one in the 10,000m run. The time for Crosby upset Delilah DiCrescenzo's school record of 10:06.88 from 2005.

In the 200m dash, Akua Obeng-Akrofi opened with a 23.36, taking fourth place in her heat and moving on to Saturday's quarterfinal round. The junior also ran in the 400m quarterfinal prior to the 200m, but her career best 52.47 narrowly missed out on making the field in Eugene, placing her 14th.
