LEXINGTON, Ky. - Robert Napolitano, Nell Crosby, and Natalie Tanner will advance to Eugene after top performances during the NCAA East Prelims hosted by the University of Kentucky.

The trio of runners will compete in the NCAA Final Round at the University of Oregon, June 7-10.

In the first heat of the 1,500m quarterfinal, Napolitano was able to kick away at the end to grab the fourth of five automatic qualifying spots. The senior's final 400m was clocked at under 53 seconds, as he crossed the line in 3:57.16 to advance to the final round for the first time in his career.

Tanner became one of just two women from the East Prelims to advance in the distance-double, qualifying in last night's 5,000m run. The senior was fifth overall at 16:09.69, in what ended up being the faster of the two heats. Henna Rustami also ran in that heat and finished in 17:00.44, after suffering a fall.

On the first day of the East Prelims, Tanner qualified for Eugene in fifth during the 10,000m run, and was within striking distance of first place at 33:41.65.

During day two, Crosby picked up a second place finish in her heat of the 3,000m Steeplechase at 10:02.02. The time for Crosby upset Delilah DiCrescenzo's school record of 10:06.88 from 2005, and now travels to Eugene during her first full season on the track.

The final day of the East Prelims saw Akua Obeng-Akrofi finish her second event of the meet in the 200m dash. With a 23.26 second finish, the junior clocked a school record, topping Sharay Hale's 23.33 from 2011, and taking 17th. Obeng-Akrofi also advanced to the quarterfinal round in the 400m run, running a career best 52.47 and narrowly missing out on qualifying for Eugene in 14th place.

The triple jump competition got under way on the final day, with three Lions taking part. The men had Daniel Igbokwe leaping to a 24th place finish in 15.32m (50'3.25"), while the women recorded a 38th place result from Anna Williams (12.22m/40'1.25") and Maryam Hassan was 46th (11.64m/38'2.25").

The men's 5,000m run had a pair of runners compete on the final day, with Brian Zabilski clocking a 14:45.47 to take 13th in his heat, while Ryan Thomas was 18th in that heat at 15:03.39.
