NEW YORK—Single game tickets for Columbia Football’s first two games of the 2017 season are now on sale, the Columbia University Athletics Ticket Office announced this morning. Columbia’s Wagner game (Sept. 16) has been designated Northern Manhattan Neighbors Appreciation Day. As part of the promotion, community residents of Inwood and Washington Heights are invited to attend this game as special guests and may pick up complimentary tickets by presenting proof of residence on game day.

 

Columbia’s second game against Georgetown (Sept. 23) is Family Day and CU’s Lou Little Cup game. As part of the Family Day promotion, Football 4 Packs are available which includes four tickets and a concessions voucher for $30 (General Admission only).

 

All other single game tickets for Columbia Football games will go on sale on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m.

 

Kickoff times and television designations for Columbia’s 2017 Football schedule were announced on July 24. Columbia also announced last week that it will host Montclair State in a preseason scrimmage at Robert K. Kraft Field on Friday, Sept. 1 at noon. Admission is free and open to the public. Columbia begins preseason practice on Monday, August 21. The Lions are set to practice 10 times before their scrimmage with Montclair State. All players will report to camp on Saturday, August 19.

 

The Lions return 13 starters (seven on offense and six on defense) and 61 letterwinners to a youthful and talented team that finished 3-7 overall and tied for a sixth place finish in the Ivy League with a 2-5 record. The 2016 Lions concluded their season with a victory at Brown, while five of their seven losses were decided by 10 or fewer points. Three All-Ivy League picks return in freshman placekicker Oren Milstein, junior defensive back Cameron Roane and junior defensive lineman Lord Hyeamang. Additionally, Columbia will return players who accounted for 88 percent (162 of 185) of its points scored, 82 percent (1,651 of 2,014) of its passing yards, 51 percent (1,037 of 2,014) of its receiving yards, 60 percent (3 of 5) of its starters on the offensive line and 49 percent (333 of 680) of its tackles in 2016.
