COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Columbia senior Sarah Hardie advanced to the 1 Mile Final where she finished 10th during the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at Texas A&M.
In the prelims, Hardie finished sixth in her heat, having one of the two fastest remaining times to qualify at 4:40.24. During Saturday's final, Hardie claimed 10th place in 4:51.07.
With the trip to Texas A&M in the books, Hardie becomes an All-American for the first time in her career, adding to her lengthy list of accomplishments. The Eastport, New York, product heads into the outdoor season an eight-time Ivy League champion and 10-time All-Ivy performer. Hardie set a school record in the 1 Mile (4:39.11) and 1,000m run (2:44.85) during the indoor season, giving her a total of five program bests.
