NEW YORK - Columbia volleyball looks to remain in the win column this weekend as the Lions continue their road swing with a 7 p.m. match at Yale on October 26 at 7 p.m., followed by a 5 p.m. match at Brown on October 27.

The Lions (9-8, 4-4 Ivy League) defeated Cornell for the second time this season in a thrilling 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon by scores of 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 18-16.

Leading the way for Columbia is the reigning Ivy League Co-Player of the week, senior Megan Gaughn, who has posted 2.39 kills/set. Gaughn recently became the first-ever Columbia volleyball player to reach the 1,000-kill, 1,000-dig mark following a 16-kill, 18-dig performance at Cornell as she amassed 1,170 kills and 1,007 digs for her career.

Senior Heather Braunagel leads the Lions in both hitting percentage (.357) and blocks (1.21/set). Colleen Brennan checks in with 6.68 assists/set after tying a career-high of 51 assists at Cornell last weekend.

The Bulldogs (12-5, 8-0 Ivy League), currently sitting atop the Ivy League standings, most recently defeated Brown by a 3-0 score.

Earlier this season, Yale handed Columbia its first home loss at Levien Gym. The Lions struggled in the first set, falling by a 14-25 score, but put up a fight in the next two sets, falling just short, 22-25, 23-25.

Kelly Johnson and Mollie Rogers are tied for the team lead in kills per set, averaging 2.90. Haley Wessels leads the Bulldogs with .80 blocks/set, while Maddie Rudnick is the team-leader in digs per set, averaging 4.69.

Columbia will look to sweep Brown (5-13, 1-7 Ivy League) for the second year in a row following a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Bears earlier this season.

Brown is led by Maddie Lord with 2.98 kills/set, Kathryn Glickman with .69 blocks/set, Alexandra Rieckhoff with 5.97 assists/set and Kathryn Conner with 4.84 digs/set.
