Volleyball Unveils 23-Match Slate for 2014 Season
NEW YORK – Columbia volleyball head coach Brie Katz has unveiled the 2014 schedule. The Lions open up their season at home on Friday, Sep. 5 and will host the Columbia Invitational against the likes of Bucknell, Fairfield and Stony Brook.
Two more tournaments follow at George Washington (Sep. 12-13) against the Colonials, Baylor and UAB and at Connecticut (Sep. 17-18) where they will take on the Huskies, Bryant and Hofstra. The format and full schedule of the George Washington tournament has yet to be decided.
Ivy League play commences on Sep. 27 against Cornell in the friendly confines of Levien Gymnasium. Columbia will then hit the road to face Penn and Princeton to begin October.
Dartmouth and Harvard pay visits to Morningside Heights on Oct. 10 and 11 before a three-match road swing at Brown (Oct. 17), Yale (Oct. 18) and Cornell (Oct. 25). From there, the Lions return home for four contests in a row with the Tigers (Oct. 31), Quakers (Nov. 1), Bulldogs (Nov. 7) and Bears (Nov. 8) to close out the slate at Levien.
Columbia wraps up the regular season on the road (Nov. 14-15) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to face Harvard and Hanover, New Hampshire for a match against Dartmouth.
