Santos Recognized by Flo Wrestling as Most Improved Wrestler

AUSTIN, Texas – All-American Steve Santos has been recognized by Flo Wrestling as the most improved NCAA Division I wrestler of the 2012-13 season, as announced by the wrestling site Tuesday morning.

Santos capped a historic senior campaign at the 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships, becoming the highest finisher in Columbia wrestling history when he claimed third in the 149-pound bracket. The Brick, N.J. native improved his win percentage from 70 percent (26-11) to 93.9 percent (31-2) from his junior to senior seasons, while qualifying for the NCAA Championships both years.

He also became Columbia 19th individual EIWA champion, with at stellar showing at this year’s tournament, winning his first two bouts via fall.
