NEW YORK - The Columbia women's cross country team will head to Toledo, Ohio on Friday, September 21st as they look to build on an excellent open to the season at the Second Annual Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster Meet at 6:10pm.

The Lions will race against 11 women's teams including four nationally ranked opponents in #25 West Virginia, #23 San Francisco, #22 Syracuse, and host #18 Toledo. The 4k race will take place at Ottawa Park where Columbia took fourth place in the 2011 meet.  Caroline McDonough and Clare Buck posted top-10 finishes to lead Columbia in last year's meet.

Columbia is coming off a dominating performance at the Vermont Invitational where seven runners finished in the top ten. With a winning team score of 20, sophomore Waverly Neer led the Lions with a title winning time of 17:41.1 and Erin Gillingham (17:48.2) took second place. Seniors Clare Buck (18:08.5), Noelle Van Rysselberghe (18:13.5), and Mallory Anderson (18:16.5) all finished in the top seven for Columbia. Taking eighth place was junior Caroline Williams (18:25.4) and in her first race as a Lion, first-year Leila Mantilla finished tenth with a time of 18:39.6.
