NEW ORLEANS - Columbia seniors Erin Gillingham and Mike Murphy each earned USTFCCCA 2012 Division I All-Academic Cross Country honors, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Monday, Feb. 25.

A total of 67 male student-athletes from 40 schools and a total of 115 female student-athletes from 69 schools received All-Academic honors this season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have either earned USTFCCCA All-America status or finished in the NCAA region's top 15 (or top 10 percent) in 2012.

Both men and women's cross country teams garnered USTFCCCA 2012 All-Academic honors. The Lions' women combined for a GPA of 3.31 and the men combined for a GPA of 3.05.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
