2013 Wisconsin Adidas Invitational Central

NEW YORK – Facing its biggest challenge so far this season, the Columbia cross country team will travel to Madison, Wis. on Saturday, Oct. 19 to compete amongst the nation’s best at the 2013 Wisconsin Adidas Invitational. 18 of the NCAA USTFCCCA top-30 nationally ranked teams will lineup for the men’s 8k race at 11 a.m., followed by 16 ranked teams in the women’s 6k race at noon.

In a field of 35 teams, the No. 8 Columbia men’s team will take on its toughest competition since its sensational win at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 5. The Lions defeated eight ranked opponents for the victory in South Bend, Ind.  On Saturday, the Lions will look to plant its flag as one of the country’s best programs at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.

The women’s team is coming off its 16th consecutive title at the Metropolitan Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park. 36 teams will lineup for the women’s 6k-race, including four Ivy League foes in No. 13 Dartmouth, No. 15 Cornell, Harvard and Yale.
