NEW YORK - For the second straight season, the Columbia women's lacrosse team will host a Big East team at Robert K. Kraft Field on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 pm. The Lions will matchup against Villanova for the first time in program history and look to improve on a 1-3 start this season.

On last Saturday, the Lions played its second Ivy League game of the season against Cornell. Despite a 14-7 loss to the Big Red, Columbia's Paige Cuscovitch scored a team-high three goals for her third hat trick of the season. The Lions knew they had a big task ahead against undefeated Cornell and displayed a refreshing toughness on the field.

"For anybody who saw the first half, you saw the new Columbia in terms of our fight and our ability to hold on to the ball, " said Columbia Head Coach of Lacrosse Liz Kittleman Jackson.

Cuscovitch has put together a string of solid performances through the first four games of the season. Her season total of 11 goals includes three hat tricks in contests against Mount St. Mary's, Lafayette and Cornell. The junior has earned an Ivy League weekly honor roll selection two out of the three weeks the awards have been released.
