Columbia Hosts Princeton In Wednesday Night Game
NEW YORK - For the first time in three weeks, the Columbia women’s lacrosse team will take to Robert K. Kraft Field on Wednesday, March 26, to host a 7 p.m. matchup against Princeton. The Lions, 2-4 and 0-3 in the Ivy League, will have a tall order in competing for its first conference win of the season against the Tigers, 4-3 and 0-1 in the Ivy League, who will be looking for their first conference victory.
LAST TIME OUT
In their third road game last week, Columbia put up a strong fight at Dartmouth on Saturday, March 22. The Lions used a second-half offensive surge, including a four-goal game from first-year Taylor Quinn, to cut into an early first-half deficit. However, the Big Green saw scores from six different players to fight off the Lion’s comeback, handing Columbia a 12-9 defeat.
IVY LEAGUE WEEKLY HONORS
In the latest Ivy League Weekly performance release on March 24, the Lions posted a season-high three honors behind a packed week of action. Quinn along with seniors Paige Cuscovitch and Ashley Rinere all earned their second weekly honor roll selections this season.
In three games from March 17-22, Cuscovitch tallied eight points on seven goals and an assist; including a career game-high five goals in the Lions win over Fresno State. In the victory, Rinere posted her second four-goal game of the season to add to a productive week of nine points on six goals and three assists. Quinn was a solid all-around player last week as she compiled eight points, including six goals and two assists, and collected seven ground balls and seven draw controls.
LEADING THE IVY LEAGUE
With 103 ground balls through six games, Columbia stands among the top in the Ivy League this season. The Lions hustle and toughness has been on display every game and first-year Taylor Quinn has stepped up to lead the charge. Quinn holds the second highest total at 20 for an average of 3.33 ground balls per game.
THE 100 CLUB
Cuscovitch scored three points against Cornell on Saturday, March 8, including a goal and a pair of assists, to join the programs prestigious 100 career-points club. Cuscovitch became the 11th player to reach the 100 mark and with a new career total of 108 through six games, she ranks ninth all-time.

The Tigers are on a three-game winning streak entering into Wednesday’s matchup. Like Columbia, Princeton made a trip to the west to take on a pair of opponents last week, downing both USC and San Diego State to improve to 4-3 overall.
