NEW YORK  - On Saturday, April 19, the Columbia women’s lacrosse team will hosts its final Ivy League home game of the season with a 1 p.m. matchup against Harvard at Robert K. Kraft Field. The Lions, 3-8 overall and 0-5 in conference play, will take on the Crimson, 8-5, 3-2 Ivy League, who currently stand third in the conference standings.

Columbia faced a tall order with a road game at No. 18 Albany on Wednesday, April 16. Despite an 18-4 loss, the Lions saw scores from four different players and several impressive career marks.

Along with a goal, Paige Cuscovitch tallied a pair of caused turnovers on defense. With a new career total of 79, the senior is one shy from tying the program all-time record of 80 set by Kate Lombard ‘07CC. Taylor Quinn battled for a team-high five draw controls to add to her total on the season. She now holds an impressive 41 draw controls on the year and becomes only the second player in Columbia history to grab over 40 in a season.

Against UMBC on Wednesday, April 9, Cuscovitch scored her 100th career goal in the second half to become the sixth Columbia player to reach the prestigious milestone. She currently stands fourth all-time with a total of 105 goals. Cuscovitch scored three points against Cornell on Saturday, March 8, including a goal and a pair of assists, to join the programs prestigious 100 career points club. Cuscovitch became the 11th player to reach the 100-point mark and with a new career total of 120 points, she ranks seventh all-time.

Through 11 games, first-year Taylor Quinn has continued to be an instrumental force on the field for the Lions. With an average of 3.45 ground balls, Quinn stands atop the Ivy League. After a pair of ground balls against Albany, the first-year has tallied team-high 38 ground balls on the season.

The offense is led by the conference’s goal leader in Marisa Romeo who has 42 scores this season. The Harvard defense is anchored by goalkeeper Kelly Weis who is second in the Ivy League in saves per game at 8.46.
