Lacrosse Welcomes Nine For The Class of 2016
NEW YORK - Columbia women's lacrosse head coach Liz Kittleman has announced nine student-athletes who will join the team as the Class of 2016 for the upcoming season.
#18 Jessie Ambrose
M | 5-4 | Fr. | CC | Westport, Conn. | Staples
At Staples: Ambrose was a four-year letter winner in lacrosse at Staples High School. She was a four-time All-FIAC selection and helped lead her team to a 2010 Connecticut State Lacrosse Championship runner-up finish. In her senior season she earned an All-American Honorable Mention status to go along with Athlete of the Year honors at Staples and for the Westport News.
#3 Bridget Greene
M | 5-3 | Fr. | CC | Greenlawn, N.Y. | Harborfields
At Harborfields: As a senior, Greene earned her second consecutive All-County Lacrosse award behind 53 goals, 22 assists, and 41 ground balls. The two-time U.S. Lacrosse academic All-American also received the Capital One News Scholar Athlete Award in March 2012.
#22 Allison Hoffman
MF/D| 5-10 | Fr. | CC | Hingham, Mass. | Thayer
At Thayer Academy: Arriving as a junior at Thayer, Hoffman led the Tigers to a 14-1 record and the Independent School League Championship game. She returned in her senior season to lead Thayer to a perfect 15-0 record and capture the Independent School League Championship.
#5 Lexi Mazur
A | 5-2 | Fr. | CC | Media, Pa. | Strath Haven
At Strath Haven: A four-year letter winner at Strath Haven, Mazur was a three-sport standout athlete in lacrosse, soccer, and track & field. The three-time All-Delaware County Lacrosse selection helped lead her team to a State Championship runner-up finishes in 2009 and 2012. She starred as a top defender making the All-Philly Lacrosse Defense team in her senior season.
#17 Kate Murphy
A | 5-4 | Fr. | CC | Chatam, N.J. | Chatam
At Chatham: Murphy led Chatam in back to back New Jersey State Lacrosse Championship titles in 2011 and 2012. The two-time All-County selection was second on the Cougar squad in assists and helped Chatham win Morris County Championships in 2010 and 2012.
#99 Colleen Packer
GK | 5-6 | Fr. | CC | Wayne, Pa. | Radnor
At Radnor: Packer was a two-time Academic All-American in both lacrosse and swimming for the Radnor Raiders. The big time goalie helped the squad capture a PIAA State Championship in 2010 and again in 2012.
#26 Margaret Sinzer
A | 5-7 | Fr. | CC | Mendham, N.J. | West Morris
At West Morris Mendham: A four-time lacrosse letter winner at West Morris Mendham School, Sinzer emerged in her senior season to become an All-American Honorable Mention honoree. She was also a two-time Academic All-American in 2011 and 2012.
#2 Heather Summers
MF | 5-2 | Fr. | CC | Fallston, Md. | Fallston
At Fallston: A four-time lacrosse letter winner at Fallston High School, Summers obtained championships in lacrosse and soccer. As senior captain she led the Cougars to a 2012 Maryland State Lacrosse Championship. Summers entered the year coming off a 2011 Club National Championship as a member of the NEMS Club Lacrosse team and was a 2011 U.S. Lacrosse All-Academic selection.
#4 Barbara Terwilliger
MF/D | 5-2 | Fr. | CC | Newton, Mass. | Southfield School for Girls
At Southfield: Terwilliger was a top defender in her four years at Southfield. The two-time All-American Defender in 2011 and 2012, was a three-time lacrosse letterwinner. A three-sport athlete in cross-country, basketball, and lacrosse, Terwilliger earned Valedictorian of her graduating class in 2012.
