LYNN, Mass. -- Columbia's Dario Pizzano will be one of three starting outfielders for the East team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League's annual All-Star Game on July 27 at Fraser Field, home of the North Shore Navigators, Pizzano's summer league team.

After batting .359 with nine home runs and 36 RBI for the Lions in 2011, Pizzano has continued to wield a hot bat with the Navigators in the wood bat summer season.  Pizzano is currently third in the NECBL in hitting at .361 and has two home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs scored. He is also second in the league with a .456 on-base percentage and is riding a seven-game hit streak.

Pizzano is one of three Columbians to be named to his summer league's all-star team.  Tim Giel pitched in the Northwoods League All-Star Game on July 18 and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Aaron Silbar played six innings in the Florida Collegiate League All-Star Game on July 12, splitting time between second base and shortstop.  In two plate appearances, Silbar reached base twice, both times after he was hit by a pitch.
