Baseball's Weekend Series with Princeton Moved up to a Friday Start
NEW YORK - Columbia's upcoming four-game weekend series with Princeton will be pushed up to start on Friday at 1 p.m., due to forecasted inclement weather on Sunday.
Saturday's doubleheader will still begin at 1:30 p.m. on Columbia Baseball Alumni Day.
Below is the updated schedule of games this weekend:
Game 1: Friday, April 20 - 1 p.m.
Game 2: Friday, April 20 - approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one
Game 3: Saturday, April 21 - 1:30 p.m.
Game 4: Saturday, April 21 - approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game three
Also, fans planning to attend should be aware of weekday traffic and subway changes due to MTA repairs and construction on the 1 train line.
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. on weekends, there will be two cranes stationed along stretches of Broadway, West 216th Street and West 218th Street. On Fridays and weekends during work hours, West 216th Street between Broadway and 9th Ave., West 218th Street between Broadway and 9th Ave., and 10th Avenue between West 216th and West 218th will be closed to traffic.
Stretches of Broadway from W. 218th to W. 219th, and Broadway between W. 216th and W. 218th, will maintain lanes for both northbound and southbound traffic during construction, while Broadway between W. 219th and W. 220th, and Broadway from W. 220th to 9th Ave. will be designated for northbound traffic only.
Northbound 1 trains will skip the 215th Street stop Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For service to 215th Street, one could take the 1 train to 242nd Street and transfer to the Southbound 1 train. The 207th Street station will remain open in both directions. The A train running to and from 207th Street is another rail option.
